Yoka Knox
Hi, my name is Yoka Johanna Knox. I have been a midwife since 2003 and love my job. I cannot imagine doing anything else. It’s such a privilege working with women and their families at such a wonderful time of their life.
I love supporting women through normal labour and birth, always referring them to the appropriate professional necessary. I look after women and their family during pregnancy, labour and birth and up to 4-6 weeks after birth. I take time off as needed to spend with my own family and to refuel. I work with a wonderful team of 5 midwives and we all support one another. These midwives are Bec, Julie, Karen and Judy. We have a work phone with we each hold a week at a time and we triage the calls. We still each look after our own caseload unless we are off duty.
I am married to a wonderful man named Matt and We have a son Jakob born in 2012 and a daughter Grace born 2015. I am also an aunty to four beautiful children of my sister and one if my sister in law.
I love outdoor sports as does my husband and I do a number of crafts/hobbies.
